About the founder

From a childhood thought to a mission for humanity: the story behind Nazim Foundation of India, in our founder's own words.

Every organisation has a beginning.

Some begin with a business plan. Some begin with an idea. But some begin with a feeling that refuses to disappear.

Nazim Foundation of India began with that feeling. A feeling of responsibility. A feeling of compassion. And a question that stayed in my mind for years:

“If I can see someone's suffering, why should I simply walk away?”

Where it all began

My own educational journey played an important role in shaping the way I looked at society.

I began my education at a Maktab, where I received my early learning and values. After completing Class 5, I continued my education at a Christian school.

Growing up in these different educational environments allowed me to see and understand different perspectives, cultures and ways of life.

But beyond education, it was the society around me that taught me some of life's deepest lessons.

I saw poverty from very close. I saw families struggling to survive. I saw people who did not have enough food to eat, clean water to drink, proper clothes to wear or a safe place to live.

I saw homes being broken apart by poverty. I saw people carrying responsibilities much greater than their resources.

And as I grew older, I began to understand that poverty is not simply the absence of money. Sometimes poverty takes away education, health, dignity, opportunity and hope.

These things stayed with me. I could not simply forget what I had seen.

The search for a way to serve

For a long time, I kept asking myself: “What can I do?”

I knew that one person could not solve every problem. But I also realised that doing nothing was not an answer.

I began observing and studying the work of different NGOs and social organisations. I wanted to understand how charitable organisations worked, how they reached people, how projects were managed, how resources were collected and, most importantly, how real and sustainable change could be created.

I learned from different organisations. I observed their work. I understood their strengths and their challenges. I also got the opportunity to work with NGOs and experience social work more closely.

Those experiences changed my thinking. I realised that charity should not only be about giving something to someone today. It should also be about creating a better tomorrow.

The decision

Eventually, I made a decision.

If I truly wanted to serve people, I needed to create an organisation through which this work could be carried forward in a systematic, responsible and sustainable way. And that decision gave birth to Nazim Foundation of India.

In 2024, I established the foundation with a simple but powerful purpose: to serve humanity and stand beside people who are struggling to stand on their own.

What began as a dream became an organisation. And what began as an organisation became a mission.

What Nazim Foundation of India stands for

Our purpose is simple:

  • When someone is hungry, we want to help provide food.
  • When someone lacks essential clothing, we want to help provide it.
  • When someone has no safe place to live, we want to work towards shelter and support.
  • When a child is deprived of education because of poverty, we want to create opportunities for learning.
  • When a family is facing hardship, we want to stand beside them.
  • When someone has lost hope, we want to remind them that they are not alone.

Our work is intended for people who are genuinely vulnerable, disadvantaged and in need of support. We want to work for orphans, widows, poor families, vulnerable children, people facing hardship and communities that need meaningful support.

But our ultimate objective is not to create a society that depends forever on charity. Our greater dream is to create a system where support becomes opportunity, opportunity becomes capability, and capability becomes self-reliance.

My vision

My vision for Nazim Foundation of India is much bigger than simply running charitable programmes. I want to build a trusted institution that becomes a source of hope, dignity, opportunity and positive change.

I dream of a society where poverty does not decide a child's future. Where a person's financial condition does not determine whether they deserve education. Where a widow does not feel abandoned. Where an orphan does not feel forgotten. Where a poor family does not have to choose between food and medicine. Where people facing difficult circumstances can find someone willing to stand beside them.

I want Nazim Foundation of India to become an institution that people can trust when they need help, and an institution that donors can trust when they want to help.

Our mission

Our mission is to identify genuine needs at the grassroots level and respond to them with honesty, compassion, transparency and organised action. We aim to work across areas including:

  • Food & Basic Needs

Supporting vulnerable families with food, clean drinking water, clothing and essential supplies.

  • Shelter & Human Dignity

Supporting people who lack safe and dignified living conditions and working towards sustainable housing solutions where possible.

  • Education

Helping children and young people access education, learning resources, digital literacy and skills that can improve their future.

  • Healthcare

Supporting charitable healthcare initiatives and helping people who struggle to access essential medical support.

  • Women, Widows & Vulnerable Families

Creating support systems and opportunities for women, widows and families facing financial hardship.

  • Skills & Livelihood

Moving beyond temporary assistance by promoting skills, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

  • Emergency & Humanitarian Support

Standing with communities during disasters, emergencies and difficult circumstances.

Charity with responsibility

I believe that every donation carries a responsibility.

When someone contributes their hard-earned money to Nazim Foundation of India, they are not simply giving money. They are giving us their trust. That trust must be respected.

Therefore, transparency and accountability are central to the institution I want to build. We want our supporters to know where their contributions are being used, what projects are being carried out and what impact those projects are creating.

Our ambition is to develop systems through which our work can be documented, monitored and communicated responsibly.

Because the real value of a foundation is not measured by how much money it receives. It is measured by how responsibly it transforms that support into positive impact.

From one life to many lives

I believe that changing one life matters.

A child who receives education may change the future of an entire family. A person who receives a livelihood opportunity may no longer need assistance tomorrow. A family that receives support during its darkest moment may regain the strength to rebuild. A young person who learns a skill may become an employer instead of a job seeker. And a person who once received help may one day become someone who helps others.

This is the cycle I want Nazim Foundation of India to create:

  1. Help
  2. Opportunity
  3. Empowerment
  4. Self-Reliance
  5. Service to Others

My dream for Nazim Foundation of India

My dream is not to build a foundation that exists only for a few years. I want to build an institution that can continue serving people for generations.

I want its systems to become stronger. I want its projects to become larger. I want its reach to expand. I want its transparency to become its identity. I want its service to become its reputation. And I want its impact to speak louder than its name.

Today, we may be at the beginning of this journey. But I believe every great institution begins with a small group of people who refuse to give up on a meaningful dream.

A promise to those we serve

We cannot promise to solve every problem. We cannot promise to help everyone. But we can promise something important: we will continue to try.

  • Where there is genuine need, we will look for a way to respond.
  • Where there is vulnerability, we will try to provide support.
  • Where there is a child with potential but without opportunity, we will try to open a door.
  • Where there is hunger, we will try to provide food.
  • Where there is hardship, we will try to provide assistance.
  • And where there is hopelessness, we will try to bring hope.

A message to our donors, volunteers & supporters

Nazim Foundation of India cannot achieve this vision through one person alone. It requires a community.

It requires donors who believe in responsible giving. It requires volunteers who are willing to give their time. It requires professionals who are willing to share their knowledge. It requires young people who want to contribute to society. And it requires people who believe that humanity is greater than differences.

Every person who supports this mission becomes a part of this journey.

Your contribution may become someone's meal. Your support may become a child's education. Your generosity may become someone's medical assistance. Your time may become someone's opportunity. And your kindness may become someone's reason to believe in humanity again.

The dream is bigger than me

Nazim Foundation of India is not just my personal dream. It is a vision that I hope will belong to thousands of people. I may have taken the first step, but I want many others to walk this path.

I want today's beneficiaries to become tomorrow's supporters. I want today's students to become tomorrow's teachers. I want today's learners to become tomorrow's leaders. I want today's recipients of help to eventually become people who help others.

That is when I will feel that the dream has truly succeeded.

Our journey has only begun

In 2024, a dream took the form of an organisation. Today, that organisation carries a responsibility. Tomorrow, I hope it becomes a movement.

A movement built on compassion. A movement built on transparency. A movement built on education. A movement built on opportunity. A movement built on dignity. And above all, a movement built on service to humanity.

I do not know how far this journey will take us. But I know where we are going. We are going towards a future where help reaches those who genuinely need it, where opportunity reaches those who have been left behind, and where no person has to face hardship completely alone.

This is the dream that stayed with me from my childhood. This is the thought that grew with me. This is the reason I chose the path of social service. This is why Nazim Foundation of India was established. And this is the mission I want to dedicate my life to.

“A foundation is not defined by the building it creates, but by the lives it helps rebuild.”
