Who we are
Nazim Foundation of India (“NFI”, “we”) decides how the personal information collected through this website is used and is responsible for it. We handle it in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Our contact details are at the end of this page.
What we collect and why
We collect only what each form asks for, and fields marked optional can be left blank.
- Donations: name, email, mobile number and, if you choose, an address and a message, with the amount, type of giving, project and Razorpay payment reference. Used to process the payment, issue your receipt, keep our accounts and contact you about your donation.
- Course registration: name, father's or guardian's name, date of birth, qualification, mobile number, email, address and course. Used to enrol you, arrange your batch and centre, and issue your certificate.
- Membership: name, father's or husband's name, email, mobile number, occupation and address. Used to review your application, confirm the fee, issue your membership ID and send you invitations and our annual report.
- Volunteering: name, town or city, email, mobile number, interests, availability and any message. Used to match you with volunteering work and call you.
- Job applications: name, email, mobile number, qualification, experience, a link to your CV and your answers. Used to assess your application and contact you if you are shortlisted.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form, WhatsApp, phone or email, with your contact details. Used to reply to you.
We no longer ask for PAN when you donate. If you gave it with an earlier donation, it is used only for that donation's records, and you can ask us to delete it.
We never collect or store card, UPI or bank details. Razorpay handles payments entirely.
Like any website, our server receives your IP address and browser details. We use them only to keep the site secure, for example to block spam and repeated payment attempts, and never to track or profile you.
Your consent
When you submit a form or make a donation, you agree to us using your information for the purpose described above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us. We will then stop using your information and delete it, except records the law requires us to keep, such as donation accounts. Withdrawing does not affect what we did before, and we may no longer be able to process an application that depends on it.
What is public
- Certificate lookups show what is printed on the certificate: the certificate number, student's and father's name, course, duration, grade, centre and date of issue.
- Membership lookups show the membership ID, the member's name, plan, start date and validity. Pending or rejected applications are never shown.
- A lookup shows a record only to someone who enters its exact number, and results are kept out of search engines.
- Photos of our team and programmes appear on this website. If you are in one and want it removed, tell us and we will take it down.
- Donor information is never made public. Your receipt opens only through the private link you get after paying, so share that link with care.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, or use it for advertising. We share it only with:
- Razorpay, which processes donations. It receives your name, email, mobile number and the donation details, and handles payment details under its own privacy policy.
- AIC Cloud, our hosting provider, which runs the server in India that holds this website and its database.
- Our auditors, for statutory audits, and government authorities when the law requires it.
WhatsApp, Razorpay and the social media sites we link to have their own privacy policies, which apply when you use them, including when you message us on WhatsApp.
Storage and security
What you submit on this website is stored in a database on our server in India, including photos our staff upload. The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and only authorised NFI staff can see submissions, through a password-protected admin area. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
How long we keep it
- Donation records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require us to keep our accounts.
- Certificate and membership records: for as long as the certificate or membership may need to be verified.
- Messages, registrations, applications and volunteer sign-ups: only while we need them for that purpose, and no longer than 2 years after our last contact with you.
After that, we delete the information.
Your rights
In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, how we use it and who we have shared it with;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- stop using it, by withdrawing your consent;
- let someone you nominate use these rights for you if you die or are unable to act.
There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
Questions and complaints
To use any of these rights, or to complain about how we handle your information, contact us using the details below and mention “Privacy request”. We acknowledge every request within 7 days and reply in full within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Some of our courses are open to students under 18. A child's registration must be made by, or with the consent of, a parent or guardian, who can also use the rights above on the child's behalf. We do not track or advertise to anyone on this website, including children.
Cookies
We use no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. The only cookies we set are for NFI staff signing in to the admin area. When you use the donation form, Razorpay's payment window loads from Razorpay and may use its own cookies to process the payment securely.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
